Inauguration on June 7th, as part of Pesaro 2024 – Italian Capital of Culture Events
Can the courage and initiative of a few individuals define the destiny of a territory? In the early 1980s, the Pesaro District witnessed the birth of the phenomenon of internationalization, thanks to the vision of a few pioneering entrepreneurs. This process significantly contributed to the economic and cultural development of the area, gaining global recognition.
With the same courage that fueled the legendary ventures of the Wild West pioneers, these entrepreneurs from the 1980s ventured into previously unknown economic and cultural territories, challenging conventions, overcoming linguistic and institutional barriers, and embedding themselves in what would become the interconnected global fabric we live in today.
With courage, initiative, and one great certainty: everything was evolving radically, and the future belonged to those who could see beyond national borders and embrace the idea of a world without boundaries, anticipating by decades what we now take for granted.
The story of these individuals, their companies, and their “beyond borders” vision will be celebrated within Pesaro 2024 – Italian Capital of Culture, through two events organized by Bacciardi Partners. These events, taking place in Pesaro on Friday, June 7th, aim to recount the internationalization achievements of the Pesaro District.
The celebration will begin on the afternoon of June 7th with a conference at the Salone Metaurense in the Palazzo della Prefettura, focusing on “The Culture of Internationalization.” This conference will outline the history of the internationalization process and the cultural foundation that accompanied it from the 1970s to the present day, attended by managers, professionals, consultants, and institutional representatives. Key figures from the district’s entrepreneurial scene will share significant testimonies about the spirit and strategies of internationalization they developed.
The conference will also analyze strategic solutions in light of recent international economic phenomena, particularly Reshoring and Re-nationalization, to understand how it is increasingly possible to validate Made in Italy through an Industrial Renaissance parallel to a cultural one.
Following the conference, the photo exhibition “Global Shots” will be inaugurated at the Sala Nobile in Palazzo Gradari, open to the public until June 14th. The exhibition will visually retrace the adventures of the Pesaro District’s enterprises.
The title – Global Shots” – reflects its dual purpose: “shots” as photographic snapshots of the District’s history, and “Global” to express a leap forward, an impulse to discover and overcome barriers, leading to a global vision of internationalization projected into the future.
The exhibition includes previously unseen photographic documents, starting from the 1980s with the Furniture Fair for Arabs and the first operations of Pesaro enterprises in Western Europe and North America, continuing with access to Eastern European markets and later to Asia, China, India, and the Near East. The narrative is enriched with shots of the most significant cultural events in the Pesaro District during the same period, highlighting the strong link between businesses and culture: the birth of ROF, the international resonance of the Pesaro New Cinema Festival, up to the mass media culture with advertisements by Raffaella Carrà and Lorella Cuccarini for Scavolini, and the highest forms of design in furniture and visual communication.

Enzo Bacciardi, who supported almost all the District companies that internationalized starting from the 1980s.
In this long journey, Bacciardi Partners, celebrating 50 years of activity in 2024, has been both a protagonist and a witness of the entire internationalization process and continues to be so, in an increasingly innovative and distinctive role: facilitating economic development and cultural progress of the territory, supporting entrepreneurs and managers.
